Detailed description of Scotch Pines Golf Course

Scotch Pines Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Payette, Idaho.

Scotch Pines Golf Course first opened as a 9-hole layout in 1961. The course was designed by William Graham. The second nine opened in 1988 and was designed by William Scott Masingill.

Scotch Pines Golf Course is carved from the natural terrain of the Idaho countyside. This course has many uphill and downhill shots. Only a few holes were built on level terrain, so you can expect many uneven lies. The fairways are lined with pine, poplar, and elm trees.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6487 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5512 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 3, a par-5 that plays to 515 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-3 that plays to 162 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 4, a 375 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Scotch Pines Golf Course is # 14, a 509 yard par-5.

I play this course regularly. It is always in top condition and rarely crowded. I like the rolling terrain and abundance of trees on all holes. Water comes into play on only 2 holes. For the price paid, this is a great value. Pace of play is 4 hours or less on weekdays and usually 4 hours 15 minutes tops on weekends.
